New to Officiating

LVTr-pict1339squareHow often have you attended an athletics meeting and heard requests broadcast for volunteers to assist with judging?  How often do you volunteer to assist?  Do you feel that you shouldn’t volunteer until you have become a licensed official?

Well, in reality, the opposite applies. It is far better to gain experience as an assistant before attending a course. So, next time you are aware that assistance is required, please volunteer!  Most clubs have an Officials' Secretary who will arrange for you to contact one of the club's officials who will be happy to show you what to do and arrange for you to gain experience working as an official.

The SEAOA supports officials and prospective officials of all levels of experience and this website will help you find out more and feel more prepared.
